First Official Ride

Sawyer got a new bike and helmet for Christmas! (What didn't this kid get?) We took him to the park over the weekend and let him try it out! He hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet, he mostly tip-toes but he will get it eventually. He is darn cute on it though. Biker dude!

I love this one the most, his big noggin with his big helmet-so funny and cute

Here he comes!

Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum

My parents were so generous and treated us to a day at the Evergreen Air and Space museum. Sorry that you had to work Mike!

The museum has this amazingly huge plane called the "Spruce Goose." It was huge, like...overwhelmingly huge. Totally cool though. Not surprisingly, Sawyer had a great time. He loves airplanes and helicopters so he was really enjoying the day! Thanks for the fun day Papa and Nana!

Chips for lunch....mother of the year right here

I'll clone the dates out later, too lazy today ;)

They had this little kid play area, my mom and I hit up the gift shop and my dad stayed with Sawyer, he said Sawyer was loving it and for awhile was just sitting still on one of the play planes while watching the other kids play. :)

Daddy's Birthday

I guess I should really title this Daddy's Birthday celebration, because his actual birthday was a little underwhelming since it was smack dab in the middle of the week (sorry babe!). Sawyer and I did our best to make his actual day special by getting him a rib-eye from a nice meat market, I hear it was good ;)

My gift to Mike: tickets for both of us to a Portland Trailblazers basketball game and staying the night at a hotel. I planned it for the 26th since he had the 26th off from work and I had the 27th off, that way he could just drive to work from downtown Portland cutting down his commute time, and then I could just go straight home in the morning to spend the day with Sawyer (and Nana and Papa, who so graciously watched Sawyer that night.) The 26th was the first night away that Mike and I had together since Sawyer was born!

We had a really fun time, we did miss Sawyer so much, but it was nice for us to be able to have a night out.

This was $8 (or was it $9?)!!  I can't believe the food and drink prices! (to be fair, this beer WAS full)

Blazers win! They played the Sacramento Kings

Our cozy room, no too shabby!

having some "real" food once we got back, those were some good fries!

So fun! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Christmas!

Or, as Sawyer would say: Chri-crass! Sawyer was such a lucky boy this year so Santa really treated him well. Both sets of Grandparents gathered at our house for the holiday and Sawyer was so happy. He loves his grandparents so much.

Christmas Eve, he wore daddy's glasses for a minute ;)

Sawyer slept in until about 8:15 on Christmas morning and I went into his room to get him up and told him that it was Christmas and Santa came and brought him lots of presents. His eyes got big and said "Presenths?" I said "yes! lets go see!" and we came out to the living room and his face was so sweet! While we waited for my parents, Nana and Papa, to arrive from their hotel and he would walk around and shout "ITS CRICRASS!" We all loved it and he said it throughout the day (and still says it days later, haha).

While we waited for Nana and Papa he opened his stocking gifts, the $1 slinky was a big hit. no idea where it is now, but it brought him a lot of joy that day! After they came, it was go time!

Grandpa and Grandma, who Sawyer calls "Gragraw-Gragraw" We get a kick out of it

It was a Tow Mater Christmas for this little guy, he got a Mater ornament, a big mater (below), a small Mater, and a Mater Imaginext set

Scout got the honor of sitting in the shopping cart

A bike!

Part of his haul

He had such a great day, I'm pretty sure he played all day long. Had some snacks, but played and played. So many fun new toys. That evening our friends stopped by with their daughter, Sawyer's pal Lucy, who he calls Susie.

Waiting for Lucy to arrive, loving his Shark ornament

Mike got a rifle case for Christmas (not from me!) and they had a ball climbing all over it

It is so special to be able to experience Christmas with a little kid. Seeing the joy in Sawyer's face was better than any present I could have asked for. He is one loved little boy.
