Christmas! (2013)

I was so looking forward to Christmas this year! I just knew that it would be magical with a 3.5 year old who really "gets it" and a new baby who loves snuggling. Blair and Sawyer slept well that night (though they both fell asleep around 10pm Christmas Eve) so we all woke up feeling rested and ready for the big day. We were so lucky this year, Santa really treated us well!

I think when Sawyer woke up he kind of forgot what day it was because Mike was able to keep him in his room while I got the ipad ready for a video. I absolutely love his reaction.

My parents arrived on the 24th. Mike's parents were driving over Christmas morning so we were hoping to wait until they got here to open presents. Sawyer was actually totally fine with it and was enjoying talking about Christmas in general while we waited. My dad took some pictures with his fancy camera and I love how they turned out.

Once they came it was go time and he tore into his stocking. By that time Blair was already tired and fell asleep in my moms arms. Sweet gal.

Vintage ninja turtle and motorcycle, he loves it

Mike is going on an Alaska hunting trip next summer, I don't really want to know what this is for....

Blair got lots of snuggles

Sawyer got a Playmobil Fishing boat and has been obsessed with this teeny tiny fishing rod

It was a perfect day. I loved every second of it! I enjoyed spending such good quality time with family (I think we all did) and I can't believe how fast it went.

Christmas Kids

Photography doesn't come naturally to me, but I really love it. I am learning though! I had to laugh when I plugged in my memory card to see that I took 131 pictures of the kids in front of the tree and only 5 seemed worth sharing. Blair was hilarious during the "photoshoot,"  just looking confused at the whole ordeal. Sawyer was excited to hold his sis, and was a really good sport during it all.

I really wanted to take them to see Santa this year, Sawyer has only gone once. It was his first Christmas and we got one picture and then he cried. Today was really our last chance to take them this year so we went early (for us) to the mall. I told Sawyer were going and that he would be able to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted to Christmas. He said "I don't want to sit on his lap!" I thought 'oh great, please let this go smoothly' and then I figured I would show him the baby picture of him on Santa's lap so he could see he had done it before. It worked! He said "Ok I will!" He was so cute when we got there and told Santa he wanted another fish. I slightly panicked because we didn't know this but thankfully Amazon was still offering two-day shipping to be here by Christmas so hopefully there should be no disappointment. ;)

A picture of a picture, sorry for the bad quality!

Back when I was pregnant with Blair and thought ahead to the holidays I was so excited at the thought of snuggling a sleepy, sweet baby by the light of the Christmas tree and that is exactly what I am doing now. It is just as I pictured it. Perfect. Sometimes things can be a little chaotic here, but when all is calm I have no complaints.

Sawyer's hat from Santa. He's been wearing it all day!

Hanging out / Bowling / 2 months

First, how much do these two look alike? I was looking through Sawyer's baby pictures and ran across this and realized I could recreate it with Blair.

I just loving hanging out with these two. They are seriously the sweetest. Sometimes I want to pull my hair out, but most of the time life with them is just awesome! How did we get so lucky with these adorable and wonderful kids?

Mike got a Keurig as an early birthday present and we are all loving it! Sawyer is loving the hot cocoa and my favorite are the Chai Lattes!

Blair is adorable as ever and growing so fast! She is already wearing size 2 diapers and we are moving away from 0-3 month size clothes into 3-6 month size clothes! She sometimes sleeps about 6 hours at night, usually its a stretch of 4-5, but every once in awhile we will get a 6 hour and it is awesome! I'm super happy with the 4-5 hours too! After that she usually goes another 2-3 hours. She is fabulous!

My friend Marianne got Sawyer this fish shirt and he is in love. He still talks about fishing and plays "fishing" all day every day. I think fishing is in his blood. Sawyer is really such a sweet boy. We love him so much and he is a really great big brother. Now if only we could get him to eat real food....

such a cheeseball!

cat  butt!

I love how she is just passed out without a care in the world.

We went to Sawyer's pal Brody's birthday party last weekend. It was Sawyer's first time bowling and he had so much fun! He would pick up the ball and basically give it a good push it from the beginning of the lane. It took a realllllly long time to get down to the pins but it was really cute and I want to take him again! He actually got a spare one time! I am thinking sometime after Christmas we can all go and have some fun :)

I'm just hysterical at the mask.

Blair turned 2 months old on Monday! I took her to her 2 month check up and she is growing fast, she is 13lbs 15oz and 23.5 inches! That means since she was born she has gained 5lbs 12oz and grew 3.25 inches! She still sleeps quite a bit during the day and her doctor wants us to try to work on her taking a few shorter naps rather than the one long nap she takes during the day.

Doesn't it look like she is dancing?

I am cherishing this time at home with them! I love it so much.
