Sledding at Mt. Bachelor

On Friday we decided to take Sawyer to play in the snow at Mt. Bachelor. I was so happy to go because on Thanksgiving afternoon/night I was super sick. I had the chills and then was really feverish, luckily I woke up feeling much better.

We hit up REI in the morning (late morning, I slept in) and got Sawyer outfitted for the snow. He got the CUTEST Patagonia jacket (I am obsessed), new boots, wool socks, sunglasses, and a hat. And last year we bought him mittens, he refused to wear them then, but this year he was all about them, same with winter hats. (yessss!)

We went to Mt Bachelor and they had the most perfect little spot for sledding. Sawyer was fearless and started off sitting down, and then decided he wanted to go down the hills headfirst and all on his own got onto his tummy. He was so cool and everyone loved him, he got so many smiles and compliments. He would just laugh and cackle as he flew down. It was so sweet, I wish I had video.

High 5 to Grandpa after we got all our cold weather gear on

He was so excited to see the sled. He called it a boat and sat down in it right away.

I wish I was on those slopes! Soon hopefully!

This looks like a paparazzi picture to me, the two cutest guys!

that snowboarder guy was totally thinking Sawyer was cool

Thanksgiving

Every Thanksgiving we head to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We left Wednesday evening for the 3 hour drive, the last 2 years Sawyer fell asleep on the way, but this year he did not. He was too excited to see his Grandparents. We got to their house around 9:30 or so, and he finally fell asleep at 11:30. His normal bedtime is 7:15. But he woke up in a good mood and slept great the next two nights.

The next door neighbors lent us a scooter for Sawyer to ride so we went down to the nearby park. My camera battery died on the walk over, of course.

poor guy had this little eczema spot on his face and kept picking at it

Pumpkin Pie Helper

I volunteered to make the pies this year for Thanksgiving and I need to make them today. Last year I made mini pumpkin pies in a muffin tin and while they were cute, I wanted to make regular pies this year and I enlisted help from Sawyer. He was a cute little assistant.

Yes, I cheated and bought the mix

He wasn't into it until I took the whisk out

Eating some pizza and watching Cars 2 while it bakes

Yes, the crust is a bit burnt, boo. I hope it still tastes good!

A few pictures from the weekend: He loves playing in our room, he was in there for two hours watching a movie and just driving his cars all over the bed.

He got a new sweatshirt and loves wearing the hood. Impressive block stack, right?
