Flashback

I was just browsing through my iPhoto, this was one year ago. Look at those cheeks! and that hair!  and those eyelashes!

February Catch Up

I feel like this has been such a crazy month! Mike left for a very long work trip to Cincinnati, we miss him so much! Sawyer and I got sick, my car is acting up, two planned vacations got cancelled, I'm sure other things have happened but I'm too frazzled to think of anything else!

But now I will focus on the good! My mom is visiting! We get to see Mike this weekend! We got an iPad (haha, welcome to 2013, right?)! Sawyer and I have gotten so much quality time together, lots of playtime and snuggling. We also play "Just Dance 4" on the Wii together, he looks so darn cute dancing alongside me.

I'm enjoying dreaming up of things to improve our house, filling up the shopping cart at WestElm.com, but not actually buying it all (I know I'm not the only person who does that, at least I hope). I'm loving watching Sawyer grow and his vocabulary expand! He really is doing so well with his talking, I'm surprised everyday with what he says and what he can now pronounce clearly. It is so great to see.

What is a blog without pictures?

Chocolate milk and a snack while my car is being worked on

I was so surprised on Valentines day! Mike sent me roses! They were so beautiful!

Sawyer loved "Balemtime's Day!" He is still talking about it!

He loved playing at the park one Sunday, but there were too many big kids and I was worried he would get knocked down :(

We spent some time checking out this cool tile globe, Sawyer's favorite part were the sharks, of course!

We spend a lot of evenings on facetime and skype

 Sawyer loves his iPad!

He woke up on Sunday with some truly awesome bedhead!

And that night decided to wear 3 pairs of glasses

Bubbles on a Friday Afternoon

We had such a nice day last Friday, I think it was about 60 degrees, which is awesome for us this time of year! I promised Sawyer we could play outside when we got home and he was so excited for the bubbles he randomly squealed throughout our time outside :)

Sick :(

Friday morning I got up and ready for work like normal. I went into Sawyer's room to get him up and he was already awake and holding his finger out saying he had an owie and needed a "McQueen Band-Aid." He has eczema and his little fingers get rough :( I swooped him out of his bed to tend to his owie and noticed he was really hot. Took his temp and sure enough he had a fever. It was 103.6 and I was feeling sad for him that he must not have been feeling well and also a bit panicked because I can't remember him ever having a fever that high! 101, 102, sure, but not 103! I called work and let them I know I wasn't coming in and Sawyer told me he wanted to "lay in Mommy's bed and watch Cars." You betcha little dude! Whatever you want! I called the doctors office and they told me to "watch his temp" and call if it lasts more than 2 days or gets over 105.

The next day, more of the same. Stayed home and rested up. I rented a movie for him and we had a snuggly day lounging around and watching his movie and some Bubble Guppies episodes ;).

I took his temp before bed and it was 104.4!!!!!!!!!! I was freaking out and call the doc again (they have an after hours nurse line) and they said if it gets to 105 or above, go to the ER, otherwise they wanted to see us the next day (Sunday), they have "emergency" appointments on Sundays thank heavens! He was laying on the couch and fell asleep, seriously so sweet. That never happens!

He woke up at 6am and I took his temp first thing, 105.3! Panic! I gave him tylenol right away and called the after hours line again, while waiting for a call back his temp went down and then I let them know the details and I was advised that he could wait until his appointment.

Poor guy, he was diagnosed with a sinus infection. Antibiotics it is!

He loves the fish at the doctors office, despite facing away from them in this picture, ha

Anyway, he is happy and doing well, is awesome at taking his meds. I felt so sad for my little guy! But I did love the snuggles, I feel like every mom says that. Once they grow out of babyhood those snuggles become less frequent.

Pierre Love

Pierre is a huge (hehe) presence in our house. He was our first "baby." Mike was not a cat person and I was. Luckily for me at his apartment complex a black and white cat would visit and he quickly realized how awesome they are ;) . I wanted a boy cat and Mike wanted a black and white cat. One day, 7 years ago (!) while walking through the mall in Eugene, there was a male black and white kitten. I called Mike right away and he agreed to "come take a look." The rest is history! Pierre can kind of drive us nuts sometimes, but we love him and he will always be our first "kid."

I am also so grateful that he puts up with Sawyer's roughness, but Pierre knows its all out of love.

Pierre's face in this picture is almost the best thing I've ever seen

And here he is as a kitten!
