Golf Club Love/BIg Boy Potty Introduction

On Sunday we made our normal weekend trip to Target, and of course bought way more than we needed (is it even possible not to do that at Target?), but one of the things we bought was this dinky little plastic golf set for like, $5.99 or something. Who would have thought that Sawyer would think its the best thing in the world? I should have known with his love of sticks and balls.

We also bought him a potty, (about which I read later has really horrible reviews, oh well) and he was super interested in it. He kept asking me to take off his "bopper" (diaper) so he could sit on it for about .2 seconds, and would move it from the living room, to the hall bathroom, to the master bath, and then back to the living room. No actual use of it though, it was hysterical.

I am babbling, so here are some pictures of that day. We got Sawyer the movie "Open Season" since I suspect he was getting real sick of Finding Nemo. He watched it long enough for me to get some housework done, but only with his golf set in his lap.

He got in this box all on his own, and then asked me for his new toy

We also ventured outside where he liked running away from me. Little stinker!

Beach Day (sorta) Fail

Last Saturday we decided to go to the beach. The weather report promised a nice day, my mom was in town, we had nothing better to do, so we packed up the car and off we went. We drove to Lincoln City which was about an hour or so away, and Sawyer was quite content to watch Finding Nemo on the way.

We got in to town, and it was sunny, but towards the ocean it was looking foggy. Awesome. We headed to lunch first and thats where it all started to go downhill. Sawyer was walking next to me and holding my hand, then pulled away because he wanted to walk by himself. We were off the street and in a good spot for him to walk on his own, and about 2 step after he let go, he fell and skinned his knee pretty bad. Unfortunately, that put him in a bad mood for the rest of the day, and I can't say I blame him, it definitely looked like it hurt! poor little thing! He didn't want to eat, and my mom and I had to take turns holding him while the other ate, all while Sawyer was whining and upset.  Oh well, you win some, you lose some, right?

After we finished eating, we hopped in the car and drove to this beach, and of course, despite the sunniness on the main road, the beach was SUPER foggy and just not very inviting. We laid out a blanket, and had Sawyers sand toys with us, he was just not interested in walking on the sand, but liked being held by the water. He was mostly still whining, needless to say, we didn't stay long. Luckily he fell asleep on the way home, he definitely needed a little nap.

Here are the few pictures I took that day, definitely not as awesome as the beaches we were at in Maui last month!

This picture about sums up the day

Hopefully we can try again another day!

Catching Up

I really feel like I have been slacking in the picture taking department since I finished my 365(366) blog a few weeks ago when we were in Hawaii. Probably since I don't feel like I *have* to take a picture every day, and maybe also because I took so many pictures on vacation that I needed a break from the camera. It makes me sad to be such a slacker, so I am going to try harder to get more cute little pictures of him just being cute. :)

Anyway, that doesn't mean I haven't taken ANY pictures, just not a billion per day like before. Here are some cute candids taken since we got back about 3 weeks ago.

Waiting for Dad to come home:
Someone pretending to sleep on the couch instead of taking a bath
Just kidding!
Wearing a cute shirt and watching a cartoon while I mad BBQ chicken pizza for the first time, turned out good I think!

I captured a sweet moment of a Daddy Sawyer hug, while Sawyer was wearing his shoes on the wrong feet. :)

Playing with his newest obsession: Pairpanes (Airplanes)

Playing outside on afternoon, we spotted a cat (or an Eow as Sawyer calls them, we tried to get a closer look but it ran into the woods and I'm guessing into another yard)

Also, he devoured a cupcake. He was in heaven.

We also went to the beach somewhere in between all this, but that deserves its own post....

Until next time! :)

Haircut!

On Sunday Sawyer got his 2nd haircut, EVER! I'm not counting the few (badly done) bang trims I have given him every few months or so, I mean go to a salon and chop off some luscious locks type of deal! Homeboy's hair was getting LONG. I love it long, personally, but it gets to a point where I can see that it bothers him. He gets hot, it gets in his face, I am terrible at cutting his bangs, it was just time to go in.

Some before shots:

We went to the same place we went to back in January for his first haircut, and this time Grandma came with Sawyer and me. The second we walked into the salon, Sawyer belched like a frat boy. It was so hilarious.
He did not want to sit in the chair alone, nor wear the cape. So I had to sit and hold him in my lap.
I, however, wore a cape. ;)  (please ignore my crazy face and weird hair)

His grumpy face was cracking me up

So handsome! After his nap he made a Fathers Day card for daddy, we love you Daddy!

Being messy eating dinner, doesnt he look like he is a mini-Beatle? I love his 60's hair!
