photoshop and lightroom are still a mystery to me but this was the best I could do tonight. I need to buckle down and do my book lessons! But his little face is so sweet!

It's a Mom thing / Gratuitous Hair Shots

We planned on taking Sawyer to get his haircut on Saturday so I went into crazy mom mode and took a zillion pictures of him with his long hair, just so I can always remember. This was only his 4th haircut, but I do this every time! I know I'm not alone! Or am I?

The actual haircut was a nightmare. Sawyer was having some cranky spurts that day but I didn't want to reschedule so we just powered through, thus resulting in some crazy hair. Mike fixed it up today with some barber scissors we snapped up at Target and it looks way better.

I haven't gotten any great shots yet, I will try this week, but he looks so much older! It kind of makes me sad, but he is pretty darn cute with short hair. He has a MAJOR cowlick so we bought some kids hair taming spray, but it kind of dries all crazy and spiky on top, so it just may work without the spray. We shall see!

Hello 60D!!

Let me start off by saying I am so thankful for my first dslr given to me by my parents a little over 2 years ago, it was a Canon 10D, and while it was great and took nice and clear pictures, it is now about 10 years old. So, I figured as i am enjoying photography more and more, it was time to upgrade! Hello 60D!

I will spare most of the details but a quick overview is the one that I ordered last week never shipped and it really bummed me out over the weekend, so I ordered another one (the first will be refunded) and it came today! woohoo!

Here are some unedited photos I took today, I know they are not perfect but I was playing around with the settings, with and without flash. I am so happy!

 

 

    

 

New Years Eve / New Years Day

On New Years Eve I got off work early and was happy to get some extra Sawyer time in! I tried to get him to take a nap since we were going to a friends house that night, but everything I tried didn't work. I figured-oh well. Then we were out in the living room and he feel asleep in his PBK chair! He has never done that before!! So adorable!

 

He slept for over an hour and was rested up for playtime with his bff Lucy!

Sad because Lucy took his blanket, how funny is her face though! haha!

 

The next day we decided to get out of the house and get some exercise, so we headed out to Silver Falls for a hike! It was freezing, but it felt good after we got going. We grabbed the Ergo which we haven't used in a long time, but so glad we did! Sawyer loved being on Mikes back :)
