Yesterday while I was folding Sawyer's laundry he decided to sit in this laundry basket. I grabbed my camera and he started to shake his head to try to avoid showing his face in the picture (a typical thing for him) and we got some funny shots. We got a big kick out of them!
One of our zuchinis was ready for picking today, so the kids and I went outside to pick it and play a little bit. Mike has worked hard on our garden, we have some fun stuff growing so I snapped a few progress pics.
I love this gal
tomato peeking through!
Habanero Pepper
Blackberry vines snuck into our yard from our neighbors yard, I am not complaining!
I love these snap peas
Sawyer and the "spuchini"
As Sawyer and I were walking back down the hill I had to snap a pic of this cutie
Mike went into Lowe's to get an electric hedge trimmer yesterday and came out with this rose.
Sawyer likes to ride his bike on the deck and it scares me, I need to put his bike in the garage!
I wish this was in focus
Sawyer's little things crack me up, these are the fish from his Go Fishing game.
Blair turned 8 months old on the 16th! She has been so crazy lately so I don't know why I was surprised that she was clearly not into her photoshoot:
These pictures really show her personality ;) (crazy hair, drool)
Also on this day, we had a little incident with my car and a parked car. I had to run to the UPS place to sign for a package because as someone who works full time there was just no way I would ever be home to sign for something. As we were leaving, like I do every single time, I opened Sawyer's door (not all the way, but he had plenty of room to get in) and I told him to climb in while I buckled Blair, and then I would come back to buckle him. Seriously, we do this every single day. Well, he decided to push his door all the way open with all his strength, and it slammed into the door of the car next to us. I couldn't believe it. There was a big mark and a dent in the cars door, thankfully for my sake my car was ok. My plan was to buckle in the kids and then write a note for the person, but they came back right then. I let the guy know and he was very visibly ticked off. I apologized and gave him my insurance info. Oh well, stuff happens right? It was a complete accident but not the best way to start off the week! I could tell Sawyer felt bad and he was sure to tell Mike all about it that evening.
That afternoon we relaxed and Sawyer played a little Angry Birds
Sawyer was excited to try to make his own sandwich
and Blair had some bananas for dinner
All of a sudden Sawyer decided he wanted to play on his letter tracing app, I downloaded this app like a year ago, and he had no interest until now. It was exciting to me and I love his concentration face. So adorable.
She is kinda cute :)
He got a little derailed from the tracing and Blair tried to nurse off the couch
He is kinda cute too
I took a mental health day on Friday. I brought the kids to daycare and had a much needed day alone, I felt a little guilty but I got my house totally clean, did a ton of laundry, cleaned out my closet, cleaned the inside of my car, and took a little nap. By the time I picked up the kids I felt so relaxed, we enjoyed some bubbles in the backyard and it was so nice not to have all things I usually want to do going through my brain. I am still working on bettering my work/life/parent balance. It will probably be something I always struggle with but I do my best and I hope my kids know how much I love them.
On Friday night Grandma and Grandpa Hufford came to visit with their new black lab puppy! It was a nice treat for us all to spend some time with them. On Saturday the boys went fishing and us girls went shopping. Grandma, Blair, and I ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then we shopped at our favorite stores.
I wish I would have taken off Blair's dirty bib so her cute outfit could be seen!
The Grandparents had to go back home that afternoon so we hung out at home for bit while Blair napped and then we went to the park so Sawyer could ride his bike. He is so cute on his bike, he looks like a such a big kid.
I brought Blair's dinner with us and I don't know what I was thinking. I didn't have a spoon, bib, or burp rag and sure enough a mess was made. Lesson learned for mom. She loved the Mangos though!
I couldn't resist a pic of her adorable toes
It was such a nice evening, I think we are lucky to live by the river (even if this stretch is kinda dirty)
These jammies are so cute on her, I had to take a pic
